Bressingham VE Day

The class turned up to school looking amazing; very 40s.

We had some last minute preparations to make in the morning before our celebration in the afternoon.

Making mock cream with corn flour.

Chocolate spread made from cocoa for the eggless cake.

Our VE Day party!

We ate spam and corned beef sandwiches and had elderflower cordial to drink.  We made some fantastic potato scones which were served with jam and mock cream; they were delicious.

After eating and listening to some World War 2 songs,  we went into the hall and danced the waltz and the jive.

We ended the day by playing a Beetle drive.

We all had a great day and some of us even like spam!

(This is one of our 100 memorable events- we dressed up and took part in a historical re- enactment.)

Separating materials

Continuing our Science topic, today we explored how we may be able to separate various mixtures of materials. We sieved, decanted, filtered and used evaporation and magnetism to achieve success!

Tomorrow we will see if we have managed to separate salt from a salt and water solution, by evaporation, with a little help from our classroom radiator...

...Here we are having a look the next day- and what we found...Success!

Christmas decorations afternoon

Year 6 and some Year 5 children have, this afternoon, led their groups around the school to different bases, to carry out different craft activities. The groups were a mixture of children from all the different classes and many of the photographs will show older and younger children working together like a big family; we are very proud that our children love to work in this way.

Here are some photographs of the afternoon...

And here are our group leaders- well done to you all, and another memorable event achieved- you have led a group!

We have been learning about Roman numerals today, with codes...

...then with a lotto game...

Tag rugby competition at Diss High School

Wind blew, but the rain held off for today's tag rugby competition on the Diss High School field! Class 4 made up three teams and one of them came first in the small schools category! Even more impressive was the children's behaviour and sportsmanship. The staff were very proud of every person- they all gave every effort and played their part in their team's success.

It was exciting for our children to be led by some ex- Bressingham pupils, who are now sports leaders at the High School. They were responsible and respected. Well done to all...

For our 100 memorable events, we all took part in a competition and represented our school...
